From “Trust the Whisper: How Answering Quiet Callings Inspires Extraordinary Stories of Ordinary Grace“ by Kathy Izard
While I’ve lived each of these stories or know the person who did, I still cannot begin to fully explain them. From my very first encounter with Denver Moore to the Ask her what she does whisper on a plane to meeting the woman in the yellow pats to the final “G” message from Andrea’s phone number, each story has an element of wonder that is difficult to comprehend. Because these happenings all seemed so incredible, I rarely talked about them before I wrote this book. My biggest fear was that I would not be believed.
But when I did share one or two of these stories, I was not met with skepticism. In fact, not only would people react in awe but inevitably would begin a discussion of their own God Dot stories. That is when I began understanding their collective power. I wasn’t the only one catching a glimpse of God in my life. Lots of people were having their own divine experiences. Most were just choosing to stay quiet about it. Maybe all of us are too afraid to speak about our whispers and God Dots because we believe they might be dismissed by others as too “woo-woo.”
Once I started sharing with just a few people, however, I realized the problem with keeping God secret.
If we do not share when we have a direct experience with God, we limit the possibility that these encounters will have the fullest impact in our lives.
