What if we applied the same principle of we see what we’re looking for and combine it with this Bible verse from the apostle Paul, teaching the people of Philipp:
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Philippians 4:8 NIV
I don’t think Paul was teaching people to think about what is noble, lovely, pure, excellent, and praiseworthy so that they could naively trick themselves into having better thoughts.
No, I believe he was admonishing them to think about these amazing aspects of life so they could see how rich their lives were with these things.
